Re-Elect Sharlene Patton for Portsmouth Town Council

I am honored to announce my candidacy for re-election to the Portsmouth Town Council.

As a lifelong Portsmouth resident, I have always believed in giving back to the community that has given so much to my family. My husband, Michael, and I own RI Hardwoods & Tile, LLC, and together we have raised our family here. Our children and grandchildren have attended Portsmouth schools, and our roots in this community run deep.

Serving on the Town Council has been a privilege. During my first term, I have worked hard to be accessible, listen to residents, ask questions, and make informed decisions that reflect the best interests of Portsmouth. I believe local government works best when it is transparent, fiscally responsible, and responsive to the people it serves.

In addition to serving on the Town Council, I proudly serve as President of the Portsmouth-Tiverton Rotary Club and as a member of the Portsmouth Senior Center Board of Directors. I also serve as the Town Council Liaison to the Portsmouth Housing Authority, the Portsmouth Parks & Recreation Committee, and the Portsmouth Dog Park Committee, and have volunteered in leadership roles with Portsmouth Youth Football & Cheer and the Rotary District Finance Committee. These experiences have strengthened my understanding of our community’s needs and reinforced my commitment to public service.

Over the past two years, I have remained focused on protecting taxpayers, preserving Portsmouth’s unique character, supporting our local businesses, improving communication between residents and Town Hall, and ensuring that important decisions are made openly and with public input.

There is still more work to do. I remain committed to listening, leading with integrity, and working collaboratively to keep Portsmouth a wonderful place to live, work, and raise a family.

I respectfully ask for your vote and your continued trust as I seek re-election to the Portsmouth Town Council.

• Protect and improve the Transfer Station for residents.
• Advocate for affordable housing solutions that fit our community.
• Support local businesses and economic vitality.
• Continue opposing offshore wind projects that negatively impact our community.
• Lead with honesty, transparency, accountability, and common sense
