Robert Raimondo CPA CMA Announces Campaign for Governor, Pledges to Eliminate State Income Taxes, Spur Economic Growth and Restore Accountability in State Government.

Providence, RI – Robert Raimondo CPA CMA announces his candidacy for Governor, launching a campaign centered on affordability, economic growth, and restoring trust and accountability in state government.

“At a time when Rhode Islanders are struggling with rising costs and an economy that is not working for everyone, we need a bold vision of tomorrow.”   “I’m running for Governor to make Rhode Island more affordable, more accountable, and more competitive.”

The main item of Raimondo’s campaign is the elimination of state income taxes to help working families keep more of their paychecks, attract new residents, and encourage businesses to invest and grow in Rhode Island.

“Rhode Islanders are taxed enough,” Raimondo said.  “Eliminating state income taxes will lower costs for families, help seniors on fixed incomes, and make our state a magnet for jobs and opportunity.”

Raimondo also called for the establishment of strong, independent Inspectors General across state government to root out waste, fraud and abuse, and to ensure taxpayer dollars are spent responsibly.

The campaign will emphasize building a business-friendly economy where everyone participates, lowering the cost of doing business, cutting unnecessary regulations, and supporting entrepreneurs and small businesses as the engine of job creation.

PRESS CONFERENCE TO BE HELD AT:
