Chairman Allyn Meyers Calls for Rhode Island to Join America’s “Turnaround For the Ages”

WARWICK, RI – Republican Party of Rhode Island Chairman Allyn Meyers released the following statement on President Trump’s State of the Union Address:

“President Trump promised, and President Trump delivered,” said Chairman Allyn Meyers. “In last night’s historic State of the Union Address, Rhode Islanders heard about a national ‘turnaround for the ages,’ which has brought critical relief to working families across the country.

“Core inflation is at its lowest point in five years, gas prices are down, the stock market has hit record after record, and no tax on tips and overtime is helping workers keep more of what they earn,” Chairman Meyers said. “TrumpRX is making prescription drugs more affordable, and Trump Accounts are paving the way for the next generation of first-time homebuyers and college students.”

“Meanwhile, Rhode Islanders are reduced to helpless spectators, watching our nation’s economy surge forward while one-party Democrat rule has left working families with crushing taxes, stunted growth, and broken bridges,” said Chairman Meyers. “Rhode Islanders have had enough languishing at the bottom in job growth, energy costs, and affordability.”

“Democrat ‘solutions’ are making things worse; Republican fixes are making lives better,” Chairman Meyers concluded.
